Luca Fiorentini

Was  born in Venice in 1966 and studied at the local Conservatory with Prof. Adriano Vendramelli.In 1987 he obtained his diploma at the Conservatory of  Milan with Prof. Rocco Filippini.
He took part in several courses with musicians as Paul Tortelier, Anner Bijlsma, David Geringas, Daniel Shaffran, Piero Farulli and Franco Rossi ( Quartetto Italiano), Dario De Rosa (Trio di Trieste) and with Mistislav Rostropovich.
He was recognized as a special musician from  great musicians as Mistislav Rostropovich, Natalia Gutman, David Geringas, David Stern, Riccardo Muti, Paul Tortelier, Giuliano Carmignola, Fabio Luisi, Ola Rudner , Franco Rossi and  Piero Farulli of the “Quartetto Italiano” and several others.
He attended several Musical Accademies as: “Stauffer” in Cremona,  “Chigiana” in Siena, “Mozarteum “ in Salzburg.For five years he studied at the “Musik Hochschule” in Vienna in the class of  Prof. Wolfgang Herzer , first cello of the Vienna Philharmonik.

Winner of first prizes in several National and International  Competitions ,  he has played in all the world  as a soloist and as a member of  string quartett and   piano trio ,  playing  also for important television and radio broadcastings. He also played as soloist in Austria, France, England  , Germany, Japan ,Switzerland  , Messico, Russia, Spain, Usa,  Greece, etc. From 1989 to 1993  he  played in Vienna  with the  orchestra of the “Wiener Phiharmoniker” and with the “Staatsoper Orchestra”. At the same time he was cellist of the “ Gustav Mahler Quartett”  together with members of the “Wiener Philharmoniker” .
In June 1998 he was called by M.o Riccardo Muti to play as first cello for the opera “Manon Lescaut” ( recorded by Deutsch Gramophon)   with the “Teatro alla Scala” orchestra and with the “Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala” . From 2002  he has played  also as first cello for the “Teatro Carlo Felice” of Genoa, the “Orchestra del Maggio Musicale” of Florence.
From 2002 to this year he has played as first cello for the “Teatro Carlo Felice” of Genoa, the “Orchestra del Maggio Musicale” of Florence,  the “Teatro Regio” of  Parma, Teatro La Fenice in Venezia, Haydn Orchestra Bolzano, “Mozart Orchestra”  of Abbado.
In 2004 and 2005 he was first cello in the Orchestra “Philharmonia Wien” and “Tonkunstler Wien”.
From 2008 he start together with the son of Natalia Gutman, Slatoslav Moroz and the pianist Dmitri Vinnik  the “Trio Shostakovich” . He playe in duo with the famous pianist Stefania Redaelli.
From 1998 he  recorded for the record company Rainbow Classic, now published by Nalesso Records,  the six cello sonatas of Antonio Vivaldi  with the harpsicord player Marco Vincenzi  which got a very good review in the magazine “CD Classica” . For Nalesso Records he has recently recorded four CD of the cello concerts of Antonio Vivaldi together with the harpsicord player Marco Vincenzi and the orchestra “Offerta Musicale Venice”.
From 1992 to 1994 he was teacher of cello in the music school of  Fiesole, where from 2008 he was also teacher oh cello and  teacher of the celli of Orchestra Giovanile Italiana. Since 1993 he has been  a teacher, first of string quartett and then of cello in the Conservatory of Music of Bolzano and now in Conservatory of Castelfranco Veneto.
From year  2006 he was also teaching  cello for a university course in the Conservatory of Trieste.
